Privacy Policy | NomadSpot

Effective Date: 13 October 2026

Welcome to NomadSpot (“Nomad Spot”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect your information when you use the NomadSpot mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

NomadSpot is a community-driven platform that helps remote workers, digital nomads, freelancers, and other users discover and share work-friendly places, including cafés, coworking spaces, libraries, and other establishments.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required, we will request it separately.

If you have any questions about your information or privacy rights, you can contact us at guilherme.peixoto@nomad-spot.com .

1. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to operate NomadSpot, support community contributions, maintain account security, and improve the Service.

The information we collect depends on the features you use, your device permissions, and the application version.

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

Account Registration and Authentication (iOS Only)

When you create or access a NomadSpot account, we may collect:

  • Email address (required for account creation).
  • Name or display name (optional).
  • Authentication identifiers associated with your account.
  • Account creation and authentication information necessary to maintain your account.

NomadSpot supports authentication using email and password, Sign in with Apple, and Google Sign-In.

When you use a third-party authentication provider, we may receive information that the provider makes available and that you authorise it to share, such as your email address, name, or a unique account identifier.

You can update your profile information through the app.

Account registration is currently available only on iOS. Android users can access supported features without registering an account.

Profile Information (iOS Only)

If you create a community profile, we may collect and process:

  • Your display name.
  • Your profile photograph, if you choose to add one.
  • Your community contributions, including reviews and places added.
  • Contribution counts, points, levels, or other community recognition information associated with your profile.

You may choose a photograph from your device’s photo library or use your camera, subject to the permissions you grant.

Your profile information and eligible community contributions may be visible to other users, as described in Section 3.

User-Generated Content

NomadSpot allows users to contribute information to help the community discover suitable places to work.

Depending on the features available on your platform, we may collect:

  • New establishments (iOS and Android): Names, categories, addresses, map locations, descriptions, amenities, opening hours, laptop policies, photographs where supported, and other details you submit.
  • Suggested establishment updates: Proposed changes to existing places, including their information, working conditions, amenities, and opening hours.
  • Reviews and ratings (iOS Only): Star ratings, written feedback, and associated review information.
  • Establishment photographs: Images you choose to upload to an establishment listing. Adding photographs to existing establishments is currently available on iOS.
  • Community contributions: Information associated with your submissions, including contribution history and recognition features where available.

Photographs submitted to establishment listings are treated as part of the establishment’s shared information. These images are intended to help the community recognise locations and understand their environment.

Unlike profile photographs, establishment photographs are not intended to identify or represent the user who submitted them.

Establishment photographs may remain available as part of their listings after the contributor deletes their account, subject to applicable privacy, intellectual property, and account-deletion requirements.

Submitted Content may be subject to moderation before or after publication.

We process this information to provide community features, maintain the quality of listings, and enforce our Terms of Use.

Saved Spots and Personal Collections (iOS Only)

When you use My Office, the feature for organising favourite establishments, we may process:

  • Establishments you save or remove from your saved spots.
  • Names of collections or spaces you create.
  • The establishments associated with those collections.

This information is used to provide your saved spots and organisational features.

Reports, Blocking, and Community Safety (iOS Only)

To help maintain a safe community, we may collect and process:

  • Reports submitted about reviews or other users.
  • The reason selected when submitting a report.
  • Identifiers associated with reported Content or accounts.
  • Information required to review and resolve moderation concerns.
  • Users you choose to block or unblock.
  • Information about account restrictions or moderation actions.

This information is used to investigate potential violations, enforce our Terms of Use, and provide user safety features.

Your identity is not disclosed to the reported user through NomadSpot’s reporting feature. Information may nevertheless be disclosed where required by applicable law.

Communications and Support

If you contact us directly, we may receive:

  • Your email address.
  • The content of your message.
  • Attachments or additional information you choose to provide.
  • Information necessary to investigate and respond to your request.

We use this information to provide support, resolve reported issues, and communicate with you regarding your request.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device Information and Usage Data

When you use NomadSpot, we may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  • Device type and model.
  • Operating system and version.
  • Application version.
  • Device or application installation identifiers.
  • IP address and technical connection information.
  • Application interactions, sessions, and usage events.
  • Timestamps and diagnostic information.

We use this information to maintain the Service, understand how features are used, identify technical problems, and improve the overall experience.

Analytics and Crash Reporting

On iOS, NomadSpot uses Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, to understand application usage and identify technical issues. On Android, NomadSpot currently uses Firebase Analytics only.

Depending on the SDK and its configuration, the information processed may include:

  • Application opens, sessions, and interaction events.
  • Device and operating system information.
  • App version and installation identifiers.
  • Crash reports, error details, and diagnostic logs.
  • Technical information needed to investigate application failures.

These services help us evaluate application performance, improve reliability, and identify features that need attention.

Some diagnostic and analytics data may be processed using identifiers generated by the relevant service.

Information processed by Firebase is also subject to the applicable Google service terms and privacy practices.

1.3 Location Information

NomadSpot uses location information to help you discover nearby cafés, coworking spaces, libraries, and other work-friendly places.

Depending on your permissions and how you use the Service, we may process:

  • Approximate location.
  • Precise location, where you explicitly authorise it.
  • Locations or areas you choose to search.
  • Map locations associated with establishments you submit.

Location access is optional.

When location permission is granted, we may use your device’s location to display nearby establishments and support location-based discovery.

If you deny location access, you can still explore places using manual search.

You may change or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

Location information associated with publicly submitted establishments may remain available as part of their listings.

1.4 Search History and Map Interactions

NomadSpot allows you to search for places using streets, neighbourhoods, cities, postal codes, and map locations.

We may process search information to provide suggestions, display relevant results, and load establishments in the selected area.

Recent searches are stored on your device to make it easier to revisit previously searched locations.

You can clear your recent searches using the available feature within the app.

When you choose to import an establishment from Apple Maps or Google Maps, we may process the place information you explicitly share with NomadSpot to help prepare your submission.

1.5 Tracking and Advertising (iOS Only)

On supported iOS devices, NomadSpot may request permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework if tracking technologies requiring that permission are used.

Where applicable, these technologies may help us measure advertising performance or understand interactions across apps or websites.

We will request your permission before engaging in tracking that requires consent under Apple’s rules.

You can allow or deny tracking permission and change your preference at any time through your device settings.

Denying tracking permission does not prevent you from using the core features of NomadSpot.

Analytics used to operate and improve NomadSpot may be distinct from tracking covered by Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.

We do not sell your personal data.

1.6 Information Collected on Android

The Android version of NomadSpot currently collects and processes only:

  • Usage analytics: Application usage, device, and session information collected through Firebase Analytics.
  • Location: Your device’s location, when you grant permission, to show nearby work-friendly places.
  • Submitted establishments: The establishments you add, including the details and any photographs you submit.

Account registration, profiles, reviews, saved collections, reporting, blocking, and crash reporting are not currently available on Android, so the information described for those features is not collected from Android users.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to operate, maintain, secure, and improve NomadSpot.

Depending on the information and features involved, we may use your data to:

  • Provide search, maps, filters, and nearby establishment discovery.
  • Create, authenticate, and manage user accounts.
  • Display and update community profiles.
  • Allow users to submit establishments, suggested edits, reviews, and photographs.
  • Provide saved spots and personal collections.
  • Display relevant community contributions.
  • Calculate or display community contribution information.
  • Review and moderate User-Generated Content.
  • Process reports of inappropriate Content or abusive users.
  • Apply user-blocking preferences and account restrictions.

  • Analyse application usage and resolve crashes or technical errors.
  • Respond to requests and provide user support.
  • Send essential service-related communications, including account or security notices.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing, which may include your consent, providing the Service you request, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the Service, or compliance with legal obligations.

We do not use your account email address to send unsolicited marketing communications.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Public Profiles and User-Generated Content

NomadSpot is built around community contributions. Some information you voluntarily submit may be visible to other users.

3.1 Information That May Be Public

Depending on the features available, publicly visible information may include:

  • Your display name and profile photograph.
  • Reviews and ratings you publish.
  • Establishment information, including names, locations, photographs, and amenities.
  • Community contribution counts, points, levels, or recognition information.
  • Other Content you submit for public display.

Public Content may be accessed through establishment pages, community profiles, reviews, and supported sharing links.

Please avoid including sensitive personal information in public reviews, photographs, or establishment descriptions.

3.2 Moderation of Community Content

To protect the community, NomadSpot may review Content before or after publication.

This may include evaluating new establishments, photographs, suggested edits, reviews, and reports from users.

We may reject, restrict, or remove Content that violates our Terms of Use, including Content involving harassment, discrimination, threats, hate speech, spam, fraud, or other objectionable material.

NomadSpot has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive users .

For more information about prohibited Content and community rules, please refer to our Terms of Use .

3.3 Reporting and Blocking

Users may report inappropriate reviews or other users using the available reporting features.

Reports are processed for moderation and community safety purposes.

Users may also block other community members. Blocking hides the blocked user’s profile and reviews from the person who initiated the block through supported interfaces.

Blocked users are not directly notified by NomadSpot that they have been blocked.

Blocking does not necessarily remove the blocked user’s Content for other members of the community.

3.4 Content Visibility After Account Deletion

When an account is deleted, associated personal information, including the user’s profile photograph, reviews, ratings, and other account-specific contributions, will be deleted unless retention is required by applicable law.

Establishment information submitted to the shared directory, including addresses, opening hours, amenities, and approved photographs of establishments, may remain available to other users.

Establishment photographs are intended to document places rather than represent individual contributors.

Where establishment Content is retained following account deletion, we will remove information that directly associates the retained Content with the deleted account.

Photographs containing personal information or identifiable individuals may be subject to additional removal requirements under applicable law.

Users may contact us to request the removal of establishment photographs or other retained Content associated with them.

For more information, see Section 4.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion
